When it comes to shipping incoterms, there’s 11 common way show below. And here we will introduce 4 most frequently used terms as following.

1. Ex Works (EXW)

Definition:
EXW stands for “Ex Works” and it indicates that the seller fulfills their obligation to deliver when they have made the goods available at their premises (factory, warehouse, etc.) to the buyer. The buyer bears all costs and risks involved in taking the goods from the seller’s premises to the desired destination.

Seller’s Responsibilities:

• Provide the goods and commercial invoice.
• Make the goods available at their premises.

Buyer’s Responsibilities:

• Arrange and pay for all transportation costs from the seller’s location to the final destination.
• Handle export clearance, import clearance, and duties.
• Bear all risks associated with transporting the goods.

2. Free on Board (FOB)

Definition:
FOB stands for “Free on Board” and it means that the seller delivers the goods on board the vessel nominated by the buyer at the named port of shipment. The risk of loss or damage to the goods passes when the goods are on board the vessel, and the buyer bears all costs from that point onward.

Seller’s Responsibilities:

• Deliver the goods on board the vessel.
• Handle export clearance and formalities.
• Bear all costs and risks until the goods are on board the vessel.

Buyer’s Responsibilities:

• Arrange and pay for ocean freight.
• Handle insurance (if desired), import clearance, and duties.
• Bear all costs and risks from the point the goods are on board the vessel.

3. Cost and Freight (CFR)

Definition:
CFR stands for “Cost and Freight” and it indicates that the seller must pay the costs and freight necessary to bring the goods to the named port of destination. However, the risk of loss or damage, as well as any additional costs due to events occurring after the goods have been delivered on board the vessel, are transferred from the seller to the buyer when the goods pass the ship’s rail in the port of shipment.

Seller’s Responsibilities:

• Pay for transportation to the named port of destination.
• Handle export clearance and formalities.
• Bear all costs and risks until the goods are on board the vessel.

Buyer’s Responsibilities:

• Handle insurance (if desired), import clearance, and duties.
• Bear all risks from the point the goods are on board the vessel.
• Pay for any additional costs incurred after the goods are on board.

4. Cost, Insurance, and Freight (CIF)

Definition:
CIF stands for “Cost, Insurance, and Freight” and it means that the seller delivers when the goods pass the ship’s rail in the port of shipment. The seller must pay the costs and freight necessary to bring the goods to the named port of destination and provide insurance cover for the buyer’s risk of loss or damage to the goods during carriage.

Seller’s Responsibilities:

• Pay for transportation and insurance to the named port of destination.
• Handle export clearance and formalities.
• Bear all costs and risks until the goods are on board the vessel.
• Provide insurance cover for the buyer’s risk during transport.

Buyer’s Responsibilities:

• Handle import clearance and duties.
• Bear all risks from the point the goods are on board the vessel, covered by insurance.
• Pay for any additional costs incurred after the goods are on board.

• What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

  • It’s both 3,000pcs for existing item and customized item. If there is stock in the warehouse, then the MOQ can be 500pcs. So just contact us today to check the stock!

• What are your payment terms?

  • The conditions under which we accept payments, such as T/T (Telegraphic Transfer), L/C (Letter of Credit), or others.

• Can you provide samples?

  • Of course!

    • For stock item, the sample can send out within 3 days.
    • For out-of-stock item, it might take 7-15 days to process.
    • As for customized item, there’ will be a long story, but it usually will takes 35-45 days 

• What are your lead times for production and delivery?

  • For quantity reach to 3000pcs, it usually take 35 days.

• Do you offer customized products?

  • Yes, we are welcome OEM&ODM service.

• Do you have any quality certifications?

  • Yes, ISO9001:2015, FDA, LFGB, BSCI, SEDEX， and other factory audit certificate can be done as request.

• What materials are used in your products?

  • Below are some of the most common materials used for custom kitchen utensils fabrications:
